Our Story
Rent A Portable Water Softener was born out of frustration. Our founders were traveling cross-country in an RV, moving from campground to campground. Within three months, their tankless water heater completely failed. The culprit? Extreme hard water scale buildup from a campground in West Texas.
When they looked into solutions, the options were dismal. They could either spend thousands of dollars on a bulky permanent hardware system intended for a 5-bedroom house, or they could buy cheap "filters" that didn't actually remove dissolved minerals. Worse, neither option made sense for someone who was only living on the road for part of the year.
We realized that millions of people—RV owners, apartment renters, and temporary corporate housing residents—were being completely ignored by the traditional water softening industry because traditional plumbers only want to sell $3,000 permanent installations.
